Enhancing All Facets of Daily Living
Coastal Care is dual-licensed to offer both medical and non-medical care. Our 4 distinct service levels may be part of a client’s personalized plan of care, either individually or in combination with each other. We also specialize in long-term care insurance and can help you maximize your benefits.
Companion Services
Companions are much more than helpers – they are like family. Available in both home and hospital settings, companions assist clients with a wide variety of non-medical needs like running errands, attending doctor visits, providing emotional support, monitoring safety, reading to those who are visually impaired, preparing and serving meals, performing light housekeeping and, in assisted living facilities or nursing homes, advocating for client comfort and reassurance. Companions are also routinely utilized for encouraging and providing socialization. It is very common, in fact, for a companion to regularly visit a client three times a week for 1-2 hours. This frequently creates friendships that reach beyond the client-companion relationship.
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA)
Certified Nursing Assistants may work privately in skilled nursing facilities, private homes or hospital settings. CNAs are actually highly sought after for private home care because they can perform all the basic necessary levels of assistance to allow seniors to stay in their home and retain their independence. Specifically, they are trained to provide personal care such as bathing, skin care, assistance with dressing and grooming, ambulation, monitoring of vital signs and assistance with nutritional needs or meal preparation. In addition, Coastal Care CNA’s specialize in working with those with Alzheimer's disease or in need of Hospice care.
Typical hours may include an evening or two on weekends, or during the workweek, while a senior’s child is away at work.
